David has over 30 years aviation consulting experience in project management, strategy, innovation, feasibility and complex technical studies. Starting with modelling and systems analysis, financial and economic feasibility for major infrastructure projects, he is now acknowledged internationally as an expert in strategic and systems planning for aviation and airports, demand/capacity modelling, airport safeguarding and advocacy. Recent work has included master planning and impact assessments for major existing and greenfield airports, new parallel runway systems, innovative stakeholder engagement and considering aviation sustainability and resilience.
David has Engineering and Computing degrees. He serves on the Airports Council International (ACI) World Environment Standing Committee (WESC) and the Australian Airports Associate (AAA) Airport Planning Working Group Steering Committee. He has lectured on aviation and airport topics at Swinburne University, Monash University and the University of New South Wales. He was an industry advisor for the Airport Cities Research study undertaken by Queensland University of Technology. He has acted as an expert witness in several jurisdictions.
