HONG KONG

Master Plan

The Airbiz team completed the Hong Kong International Airport Master Plan 2030 Study. Airbiz was responsible for the production of the busy day schedule, stand demand and busy hour analysis for passenger and freight aircraft, airside planning, terminal demand analysis and planning and overall airport land use, terminal and surface access planning.

This included the preparation of capacity analyses and specification of infrastructure parameters, development of simulation models, development of the conceptual-functional design for the airport terminal, determining the impacts of the terminal developments on the landside and airside components of the airport and providing input to the planning of support facilities.

The Master Plan involved development of a new runway and a new midfield concourse. With a significant proportion of passengers arriving and departing the airport via public transport, specifically the rail system, landside access was an important consideration throughout the entire Master Plan. Extensive consultations were held with industry, community and government stakeholders.
