Master Plan

The objective of this work was to reorganize Incheon International Airport’s master plan, developed in the 1990s, and map out the world’s best hub airport for the next generation. In order to carry out the plan, reviews were undertaken of the present operational status of the facilities, problems, capacity, and level of service of the airport. The directions for the development were established and airport facilities allocated, and investment plans for each phase were developed.

Airbiz was the joint lead on the Technical Work Phase, which involved: assessment of airspace system and airport facility operability, review of measures, analysis of the facility capacity (including cargo) and passenger/freight processing facility service level and a review of the airport’s facility ground plan and development directions. Airbiz used advanced passenger terminal simulation modelling for capacity assessment.
