Airbiz partnered with Perth Airport and Qantas to develop a terminal conversion strategy that enabled flexible international operations within Perth’s domestic Terminal 3. Opened in 2018, the solution transformed part of the existing domestic terminal into a dual-use facility capable of accommodating Qantas’s 787 international services without requiring separate infrastructure investment. The project centered on three swing gates that seamlessly switch terminal areas to ‘international mode’ when required, enabling the airport to accommodate Boeing 787 services (236 seats) to London, Rome, Paris and Singapore whilst preserving operational flexibility.
