Alaska Airlines Lobby Vision

From Passenger Experience Vision to Revolutionary Check-in across the Alaska Airline Network

Airbiz is helping Alaska Airlines revolutionize the airport experience across North and Central America. Going back to 2021, coming out of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Alaska Airlines had big aspirations to refresh its Day of Travel Experience.

The 5th largest airline in the US had a clear vision that would remain consistent with the values as an organization but needed the assistance of Airbiz to define how this vision could be realized through technology and considerable change management.

Core to the vision was establishing a clear goal for the future passenger experience which features self-service with the flexibility to engage with Alaska Agents if they need it. Airbiz leveraged its international experience deploying self-serve check-in around the world. Technology was an important feature of the vision that enables self-serve options throughout the airport experience – from checking in to tagging and dropping off bags. Airbiz consulted with Alaska Airlines Executive Team and Operational teams at a number of stations in the network to develop a vision document that was immediately accepted and deployed.

Once the vision was established with Alaska Airlines, Airbiz started the process of planning multiple hubs in their network. Feasibility studies, functional layouts and simulation models were developed. Construction is already underway in Seattle, Portland and San Francisco and Airbiz continues to provide operational planning support to Alaska Airlines through the construction phases.

This project is a great example of the way Airbiz can support airlines and airports from visioning all the way through to ‘day of operation’.
